Welcome to the CASA Website

Founded in 1989 CASA (Canadian Association of Smallmouth Anglers) is a fishing association that promotes fishing for Smallmouth bass as fun for the whole family. CASA’s major goal is to enhance the popularity of Smallmouth bass fishing in Nova Scotia with emphasis on conservation, appropriate management of and increased access to this valued renewable resource.

CASA always welcomes new members; a committed and enthusiastic membership is our greatest strength. We are particularly pleased when the membership includes the whole family. With four friendly, but competitive ½ day club tournaments, members get ample opportunity to fish and to discuss the future of the bass fishery in the province. These family tournaments are catch and release with a successful live release rate that regularly tops 96% mark.

While the friendly competition is always anticipated, the major thrust of the organization has long been its concern with conservation and management issues; just one of the many reasons Smallmouth bass are now the second most popular angling species in Nova Scotia.

Take a look around our Website and check us out. If you and your family like to fish and to contribute to the health and success of our fisheries join CASA today.
